Elevating a harbourside heritage icon.
Perched on Sydney Harbour, the Belgiorno Room at ACO On The Pier offers sweeping panoramic views across the harbour to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Located at the northern end of the heritage-listed Pier 2/3 at Walsh Bay, originally built to support Sydney’s maritime trade, the venue blends heritage detail with contemporary architecture. Frequently used for corporate events, weddings, and performances, the Belgiorno Room provides a striking backdrop for memorable occasions.
Lux Imperium managed the project end-to-end, from on-site assessments and demonstrations, to design collaboration, installation, commissioning, and user training.
We worked closely with the ACO to find a solution to improve the lighting of the heritage timber walls. The original warm white only lighting lacked brightness for daytime use and provided no flexibility for theming events. With the desire to increase light output and add colour changing for event theming, the solution also needed to fit within the limited space in the floor trough.

We specified Anolis Eminere RGBW fixtures as the ideal solution. The Eminere fixtures provide high-lumen output whilst delivering silent operation, vibrant colour rendering, and flexible programmability to suit a diverse range of events. The Belgiorno now features 28 fittings, one per wall section, ensuring consistent illumination across the heritage timber walls.
The upgrade also includes enhancements to the existing ETC Paradigm Control System, with touchscreen control for user-friendly operation and external console control for versatile event theming. Completed in August 2024, the project has expanded the venue’s capabilities, elevating both its functionality and the immersive experience for audiences.
